First Reading: Jeremiah 31:31-34

31'The time is coming,' declares the LORD, 'when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah. 32It will not be like the covenant I made with their forefathers when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them, ' declares the LORD. 33'This is the covenant I will make with the house of Israel after that time,' declares the LORD. 'I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people. 34No longer will a man teach his neighbor, or a man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest,' declares the LORD. 'For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.'

Psalm: 116:12-19

12How can I repay the LORD for all his goodness to me? 13I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the LORD. 14I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people. 15Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. 16O LORD, truly I am your servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant ; you have freed me from my chains. 17I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. 18I will fulfill my vows to the LORD in the presence of all his people, 19in the courts of the house of the LORD-- in your midst, O Jerusalem. Praise the LORD.

Epistle: Hebrews 10:15-25

15The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says: 16'This is the covenant I will make with them after that time, says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.' 17Then he adds: 'Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.' 18And where these have been forgiven, there is no longer any sacrifice for sin. 19Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

Gospel: Luke 22:7-20

7Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. 8Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, 'Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.' 9'Where do you want us to prepare for it?' they asked. 10He replied, 'As you enter the city, a man carrying a jar of water will meet you. Follow him to the house that he enters, 11and say to the owner of the house, 'The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?' 12He will show you a large upper room, all furnished. Make preparations there.' 13They left and found things just as Jesus had told them. So they prepared the Passover. 14When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. 15And he said to them, 'I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. 16For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.' 17After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, 'Take this and divide it among you. 18For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.' 19And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, 'This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.' 20In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
